Workshop: Mathematical Modelling in Biology by Dr. Parimal Kar.
This will be a 2 hour workshop by Dr. Parimal Kar.
The chief guest of this auspicious event, Dr Parimal Kar, is an associate professor at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology, Indore.
His areas of expertise include the development and applications of coarse-grained (CG) and multiscale all-atom/coarse-grained (AA/CG) methods for biomolecules and mechanistic study of large biomolecular systems, multiscale modelling of biomolecular recognition, protein-ligand interactions, carbohydrate interactions with proteins and membrane, free energy simulations and enhanced sampling methods, and also, modelling host-pathogen interactions in infectious diseases and innate immune response.
He will also deliver a talk for all the iGEM participants on the topic - Computational biology and mathematical modelling. This workshop will be highly beneficial for the participants by providing them with valuable guidance on system design and analysis, modelling and simulation of biological circuits, and predicting outcomes, feasibility and limitations. These insights will help the teams construct and analyse models more efficiently, by which they can identify potential challenges, fine-tune component parameters, and optimise system behaviour for desired outputs. As a highly accomplished individual, his presence as the chief guest for the All India iGEM Meet will undoubtedly be of immense value to the participants.
